  1. Background. After their 12" single "Car" was released as part of Sub Pop's Single of the Month Club, "Come started getting raves in the press, [and] played to wildly enthusiastic crowds in London and Amsterdam" before recording their debut album , which was recorded and mixed in just seven-and-a-half days. Recorded in July at Fort Apache Studios in Cambridge, MA, was produced Genre: Alternative rock, Blues.
  2. It's , 11 tracks & 11th album for the legendary 'roots' rock pioneer Dave Alvin. This great CD 'Eleven Eleven' was written during his touring 'down time'. It's a well balanced rock album (mainly bluesy rock tracks, countryish track in "Manzanita" & jazzy in "Two Lucky Bums")/5.
  3. Out of New Potato Caboose, I arose to find that the Grateful Dead were manifest of some outer existence contained within. The paradox is fitting, as for the music, merely the sun’s own tears!- the rays of sun, dancing in a million ways but illumined by same reason, to go forth into day, as they are beyond themselves in a transitively embodied.
  4. Other members of Come were J.G. Thirlwell, who would later leave the group and create Foetus, and Daniel Miller, founder of Mute Records. 2) Come was an American indie rock band from formed in Boston, Massachusetts by Thalia Zedek (vocal, guitar), Chris Brokaw (guitar, vocal), Arthur Johnson (drums), and Sean O'Brien (bass). Come ca.
  5. Dave Alvin turns it up. The intensity, the focus, the volume. On Alvin's new album Eleven Eleven, the man who many credit with pioneering what has come to be known as 'roots rock,' revisits the burning, guitar-centered blues rock that initially defined his career along /5(93).
  6. Jul 04,  · WMG (on behalf of Grateful Dead); BMI - Broadcast Music Inc., LatinAutor, UNIAO BRASILEIRA DE EDITORAS DE MUSICA - UBEM, Saregama Publishing, Peermusic, CMRRA, LatinAutor - PeerMusic, and 5 Music.
  7. The only other Eleven (this is IMO, of course) that comes close is the fragmentary 2/2/69 version. In Potato, the singing is lackluster as usual, but as soon as Phil's bass solo and the 13/8 jam starts, you will forgive the vocal shortcomings so fast you won't even remember that they sang.
  8. The Best of Bread compilation album from March was a huge success, peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard and staying on the chart for over two years. The follow-up, The Best of Bread, Volume 2, was released in May and went to No. The reunion of the group in came about after Elektra Records expressed interest in another Bread Genres: Soft rock.
  9. Dec 08,  · This album really started a fire, there was before SATD and after SATD. Saw this tour when they opened for Ozzy, most of the crowd was there to see Crue. Did they live up to the 1st 2 records, not really, but they did start some wild times. If looking for a vinyl copy, stick with the original/5().
